Agenda
Item: Construction Report
Discussion: A
copy of the November 2004 Construction Progress Report
was distributed and reviewed. This is a new monthly report
being generated in the office of Administration and Finance.
It shows all MSU and division projects (8) that have been
assigned along with project numbers. Major segments of
the report include scope of project, progress to date,
construction cost and percent complete. One of our division
projects, the Stoneville Multi-purpose Building, has been
completed and the North MS Research and Extension Center
expansion is still in the design phase. Our other projects
are in various stages of completion.
Action: None
Agenda
Item: Cell Phone Policy/Transition Schedule
Discussion: The
new MSU Cell Phone Policy and transition schedule was distributed,
reviewed and discussed. Currently there are 835 cell phones
on the MSU inventory. More than half of those, 455 phones,
are in the division. The goal is to substantially reduce
the number of phones paid for with MSU funds. The target
is to keep only 150 phones on MSU inventory and pick up
an additional 250 phones paid for by MSU. The transition
period has begun and the projected completion date is mid-January
2005. These are ambitious goals and each unit will have
to devote a substantial amount of thought and effort to
this process.
Action: Deans/directors
will be receiving materials from the vice president's office
to formally begin this process. Questions should be directed
to Dr. Melissa Mixon, Associate Vice President.
Agenda
Item: University Vehicles
Discussion: A
list of the net change in number of vehicles by MSU was
distributed. The inventory shows a net change of +79 for
the period July 1, 2001 through August 31, 2004. A majority
of these are outside the division and a disposal sale is
planned in early 2005 to correct the situation in the division.
Other units that might want to include vehicles in the
disposal sale are invited to do so.
Action: Deans/directors
should review the inventory list carefully, make corrections
as needed and dispose of vehicles where appropriate.
