Lynn Reinschmiedt

Agenda
Item: Appointment of Construction Administrator
Discussion:
Michael Muzzi was recently appointed MSU's Construction
Administrator, where he will provide units throughout the
university with a new level of expertise and support related
to renovations of campus facilities. Mr. Muzzi is a registered
architect with more than 25 years of professional experience.
Units should consult with the Construction Administrator
as early as possible whenever renovations or construction
is contemplated.
Action: None
Required
Agenda
Item: Budget for FY2005
Discussion: Budget
prospects for FY2005 remain somewhat negative. Both the
house and senate show reductions for the division units
for the coming year. However, the reductions in the house
bill are substantially smaller than the senate's. Deans/directors
will continue to work through John Tomlinson to try and
minimize the reductions as the Conference Committee comes
to some agreement. Overall, most of the units in the division
appear to be headed toward some budget reductions in FY2005.
Action: None
Required
Agenda
Item: Associate Vice President, DAFVM
Discussion: Applications
are currently being received for this position. After April
15, 2004 the applications will be reviewed and three applicants
will be selected for on campus interviews. Those three
applicants will be interviewed by DPAC at the May meeting.
All DPAC members will be invited to participate and give
input to the Vice President on each of the three applicants.
If this process goes as planned, an offer should be made
prior to the end of this fiscal year.
Action: Personnel
in the Vice President's office will make the necessary
contacts/arrangements to make sure this process works.
Agenda
Item: DAFVM Bond Money
Discussion: The
only item in the Bond Bill this legislative session is
the $4.75 million to complete the funding for the new Ag
and Bio Engineering building, authorized by the 2003 legislation.
If we get the $4.75 million this session, construction
should begin on the building no later than spring 2005.
