Agenda
Item: DAFVM
Organization Chart
Discussion: The
DAFVM organizational chart was reviewed at the June 26
division council meeting.
Action: None
required
Agenda Item: Cell
Phones
Discussion: The
cell phone issues were discussed at a recent meeting
of the presidents of the eight IHL institutions. After
a review of legislation by IHL attorneys, changes are
currently being considered. The Attorney General
is currently reviewing the legislation and a ruling is
expected in the near future. While we anticipate
some changes, no changes will be made until that ruling
is handed down.
Action: None required presently
Agenda
Item: FY06 General Fund Transfers
by the State Tax Commission
Discussion: Transfers
by the State Tax Commission to the General Fund for FY06
have now been completed. These
transfers exceeded the estimated and budgeted amount by
almost $309 million. Transfers in every month exceeded
the estimated amount except in August and September. Transfers
in February, March and June were especially good with transfers
exceeding the estimate by $42 million, $56 million, and
$46 million, respectively. Sales tax and use tax
collections were extremely positive for the year. The
only major category to show a significant year-to-year
decline was gaming fees and taxes.
Action: None
required
Agenda Item: Centers
of Excellence
Discussion: A list of suggested centers of
excellence was distributed and reviewed. Each unit
will send forward a list that includes at least three centers. The categories on the list will include
existing, emerging and potential.
Action: Deans and Directors should send their
list to the Vice Presidents Office this week.
Agenda Item: Fall
2006 Enrollment
Discussion: Projected enrollment for Fall
2006 appears to be about level with Fall 2005 at just over
16,000 students. Several new hires and other steps
are being taken to improve this situation.
Action: None required.
There
being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
