Agenda Item: Performance Evaluations

Discussion:  Based on the email received earlier this week from Joe Farris, some evaluations will be delayed until early February.  The current evaluation form may continue being used for faculty, research and extension associates.  These forms are due in the deans/directors office no later than March 1.  For off-campus faculty, the evaluation originates with the research and extension center head with review and input by the department head.

The executive, professional non faculty and support staff evaluation, will need to be delayed until early February. These forms are due in the deans/directors office no later than April 1.  Forms will be available on the DAFVM and HRM webpages.

Action:  The evaluation process will need to move forward for the various categories at the appropriate time.

Agenda Item:  Incident Command Protocol

Discussion:  The Incident Command Protocol for DAFVM has been developed and is available.  The protocol includes both primary and secondary contacts, for home, office and cell phone numbers.  In the past six months three mock situations have been handled by designated MSU, city and county personnel.  These situations are preparing us to deal more effectively with “real” incidents that may occur in the future.

Action:  Each unit should continue to formulate plans for dealing with “real” incidents that may occur.

Agenda Item:  Distance Education Proposals

Discussion:  Thirty individuals from twelve states recently participated in a meeting in Atlanta relative to a distance education proposal for the Southeast Consortium.  Drs. Lynn Reinschmiedt, Walter Taylor and Keith Belli represented MSU at the meeting.  A proposal is being prepared with University of Georgia, North Carolina State and Auburn taking the lead roles.  The proposal will target two academic areas.  They are Ag Education and Poultry Science.

Action:  Comments/questions should be sent to Drs. Reinschmiedt, Taylor or Belli.  Also, a letter of support from the dean/vice president will need to be sent to Jean Bertrand, Assistant Dean, UGA by June 19, 2007.
