DAFVM Faculty Senators with excused attendance: Hart Bailey, Anna Hood (Byron Williams substituted), Fred Musser, Shane Burgess, Carla Huston, Dan Seal

- Call to Order at 1 pm.

- Dr. Melissa Mixon gave some insight on Dr. Bohach’s transition to MSU. An update regarding the governor’s perspective concerning future state budget was given by Dr. Mixon.

- Approval of minutes of September 10, 2009. Motion made by Dr. Laurie Grace; motion was second by Dr. Barry Stewart.

- Report from the Dr. Cody Coyne (chair) regarding Holland faculty senate.

- No report from vice-chair (absent).

- Dr. Tom Matney gave preliminary report on the Faculty Affairs Committee on MAFES manuscript policies and instructions.

- The senators discussed the current situation regarding travel, and the implications on junior faculty in the division for evaluation and future promotion.

- Meeting adjourned at 2:25 pm.
