Guidelines modifications would pertain to both faculty annual reviews, faculty promotions, and if applicable the awarding of tenure.

-i- Provost Rabideau at a previous Holland Faculty Senate meeting suggested that faculty assemble supportive documentation for their P&T dossier that describe or validate teaching quality/excellence in contrast to simply describing quantity especially in scenarios where faculty are seeking tenure and/or promotion based on an FTE assignment in teaching and instruction.

-ii- A proactive suggestion offered at the October DAFVM meeting by the president proposed that it might eventually become a requirement for DAFVM faculty to assemble similar documentation related to extension and professional service.

-iii- DAFVM Senators will provide reports from their respective units related to perceptions and preferences about to the implementation of an optional or mandatory reporting system that documents quality/excellence in preference to quantitative reporting described in faculty annual reviews and promotion dossiers related to FTE assignments in extension, clinical service and teaching/instruction.

-iv- Discussion addressed the consider of having the Faculty Affairs Committee draft a brief document

-g- Community Vegetable and Fruit Gardens
Dr. Anna Hood and other DAFVM Senators mentioned that there are already units within the DAFVM that are already involved in the development of community garden programs so this topic will probably be taken off the agenda for future DAFVM Senate meetings.
