Nutrition Educator
MSU Extension
Years in Position/Service to MSU: 2 years

A native of the Mississippi Delta, Anna Toler is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community she calls home through her role as a nutrition educator with Mississippi State University Extension.

“It’s exciting to contribute to Extension’s mission of extending knowledge and changing lives in a place so close to my heart,” Toler said.

In her role, Toler helps individuals and families make healthier choices by teaching practical nutrition, healthy eating and lifestyle strategies. By sharing this knowledge within the community, she aims to empower people to develop sustainable habits that support long-term health and wellness.

One of Toler’s favorite professional experiences is the Office of Nutrition Education’s annual training, which has provided some of her most meaningful moments as an educator.

“Being able to learn the latest information, connect with colleagues and share experiences that help others grow is incredibly rewarding,” she said. “There’s always something new to learn and a welcoming environment that helps you become a better educator.”

Toler’s career path began with an internship during her undergraduate studies, when MSU’s Department of Health Promotion and Wellness introduced her to the impact of health education on overall well-being. That experience inspired her to continue her education and earn a master’s degree in the same program.

“I’m thankful to work in a department that fuels my passion for health and helping others,” Toler said.

Outside of work, Toler enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants with friends and family, spending time outdoors and walking her dog, Ollie.
