Administrative Assistant I
Agricultural Economics Department
Julie Snow has been on staff at Mississippi State University for seven and a half years, but more recently, she started a new role with the agricultural economics department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
“I couldn’t pass up the chance to work with these good people in the Ag Econ department,” said Snow. “They are the best! You couldn’t ask for a better group to work beside every day.”
Since starting her new position as an administrative assistant six months ago, Snow has enjoyed learning about all the work behind the scenes.
“Most people don’t think about what has to happen to make a place run efficiently, such as registering faculty for conferences, helping with Concur questions, ordering supplies, and assisting with payroll and invoice payments,” Snow said.
Prior to her current position, Snow worked in financial aid for seven years where she was able to assist students.
"I know a lot of college students have money worries, and financial aid is there to try to help ease those worries if possible. It was always a good feeling when a student came by or called and had concerns, and they could take a sigh of relief for a moment and take a little bit of stress off the situation," said Snow.
Snow and her husband, Dusty, have one daughter, Katie, who attends the Partnership Middle School, two cats and saltwater fish. She enjoys trying new recipes, playing in the pool and vacationing at the beach.
